Computers have found their way into nearly every part of our lives. They are intended to make our lives easier and they usually fulfill that purpose very well. They enable us to work from home, stay connected with loved ones who live too far to visit, and they provide us with a constant source of entertainment whenever and wherever we want. The earliest computers were built fifty years ago and it is only in last thirty or so years that their influence has affected our everyday life. In this brief time they have made a remarkable impact on our lives. We are now so dependent on computers that it is hard to imagine what things would be like today without them. Computer users ignore or often don’t know th e risks and problems that come with spending too much time online. According to Matthew Rosella computers are a threat to human health. â€Å"They can have effects on eyes, brain molecules, and more.† Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is when the eyes become itchy, dry, and irritated causing your vision to blur and even see double. This is caused from squinting and straining to look at a computer screen for hours on end. Computers not only threaten our bodies, but they also destroy our social skills and make us lazy. Kids type away at each other and then when they are face to face they don’t know how to act or what to say. There’s a kind of detachment that you feel when you communicate via a computer screen rather than in person. Kids will say things online that they would never say in person. For some reason everything just becomes less real. And you cannot visually see how you are affecting the other person by what you say so this boosts bravery in saying whate ver is on your mind before even thinking about it.
